Yes, more prims, BUT. This is because the pieces or blocks are 1x1x3 (3 Meters height). 1 meter of space between walls. THEN, because is a generator i think is normal use a matrix like this, for this generate so much prims.
How to solve the big number of prims generated? Well, copy the shape of the maze doing bigger prims with this 1x1x3. The idea is to build a maze and leave there builded, not generate again.
Example: 20x20 meters it´s 240 prims. This is so big number of prims, but increase size of side to side of walls (for example 2-4 meters), and build using a prim for each wall of 3-10 or more prims and you will low the number of prims.
The way in how this generate is a voice command:
maze build 20x20 <--- 20x20 shape, height always 3 meters.
