This City Ruin Kit has it all: crumbling brick walls, broken concrete columns and window frames, a collapsed fire escape, cracked floors, and bent and rusty rebar.

Modeled in Blender and imported as mesh, it is awesome in its details and at the same time easy on the rendering engine. All lower LODs have been hand-made, so all elements degrade gracefuly from a distance.

The package includes the assembled model and all elements as a kit set, and both are copy+mod, so it's up to you if you want to take it as is, alter the model itself or build your own variations from scratch.

All mesh elements are multi-faced and easy-to-use UV-mapped - so you can replace for example the brick texture and/or the inside walls etc. with common textures.
The fire-escape grates are billboarded for LOD level 0.

The assembled ruin corner is built up of 87 primitives, with a land impact (prim equivalent) of 49.
The kit set consists of 28 elements.

The mesh elements (and thus the ruin) are only properly viewable with an apropriate viewer.

Working with mesh elements, especialy regarding the land impact (LI) can be puzzling at times, because the elements, if unlinked count with integer values, despite the fact that they 'actualy' have a decimal value.

For example two elements with a LI value of 1 might actualy be 0.6 each, so linking them results in 1 + 1 (= 0.6 + 0.6 = 1.2) = 1.
This can be especialy problematic for the unlinking process, because unlinking very likely will increase the LI.

Various - sometimes nasty - effects, especialy linking mesh elements to legacy prims (like Tori) and/or sculpts have to be considered when working with mesh elements too.
For mesh in SL in general see: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Mesh

All mesh elements in the kit set are optimized to use the physical shape type setting of 'Prim'.

This set is really a joy to work with - the design and textures are amazing. You can opt to use the pre-built models or use the individual pieces to design your own build. Modifying and changing textures is a breeze, without losing the integrity. The possibilities are endless. Really a great value. Highly recommended!
