Pole Climb/Slide System

Terrific for your firehouse or any other area that needs a compact way to get from one level to another!

*It will deposit you on a platform in front of the climber when it unsits.

*The pieces are all modifiable so that you can retexture to your heart's desire

*Several can be used in one location by changing the channel listed on config notecards

Pole climb setup....

Inside you will find an object called "pole climb up" place it on the groud where you wish your pole to be. It has three unlinked objects, the climb up ball, the slide down ball and a pole.

Move the balls to position. The bottom ball, "pole climb up," should be at about knee height on the lower level, the top, "pole slide down," knee height on the upper level. The animation look best if the x and y positions are identical.

Select both balls and go to your tools menu, choose "Set Scripts to Running in Selection" then "Reset Script in Selection"

The balls will cycle and then report their top and bottom positions before going into the ready state. In case of SIM restart, this cycle should happen automatically. If any script reports a vector of all zeroes, check each to be certain the scripts are running, highlight the ballss, and reset again. Lag can occasionally delay the communications between the balls. (If the problem persists, check your notecards to make sure the channels are the same, check to be sure both scripts are set to running, try again, then contact the creator, jeaniesing Trilling).

Sit on one of the balls and away you go! You can adjust the rotation of the bal to deposit you in the correct place at the top and bottom of the pole.

additional notes:

If you are using more than one set of pole climb balls in a location, edit each ball and open the config notecard inside. The number there is a the channel that the balls will communicate on. Each pair should have a unique channel, so pick a new number and put it in both the top and bottom config notecards.
