Porch Swing, Playground Swing, or Pendulum Script (even Rocking Chair) Versão 4

To see it work, just throw it into any prim, and then click it.

Version 4, added an option to have it interface with the AVsitter menu system (but not necessary). While I was at it, I also added a menu so the user could select different speeds & heights to swing.

A full perm, full featured script for swings (or any pendulum). The only limitation is that it will only work for swings that are level (not rotated on X or Y). (Rotations on Z are fine, such as turning it to face a different direction.)

If the swing is a link-set, be sure this script is in the root prim. If it's in a child prim, only that single prim will swing.

There are options for setting hinge top or bottom, initial swing direction, degrees to swing, pause at top of swinging, speed, and a hinge offset tweak. This offset tweak is great for swings with hooks that might cause the hinge-point to be a bit below the top of the swing.

Using this script, your swing will cause it to swing smoothly.

There's also a setting to flip the "swing" action. If you do that, and tinker with the hinge offset, you can use it in a rocking chair.

This is one of the few swing scripts you'll find that works with a single-prim or a link-set. It will also work in a swing that's a linked-child of a larger structure.

There are also algorithms in the script to correct for "creep" (the small rounding errors that accumulate with LSL floats over time).
