UPDATED 7/30/2020 to fix the PROFILE HISTORY button

The "Profile Peeker" is for those of us that love to look at the profiles of the avatars around us.

It automatically scans within 100 meters of your avatar and displays the 2nd Life and 1st Life profile pictures of the nearest 10 avatars. Nearest at the top, farthest at the bottom.

It is worn as a HUD - usually vertically along the right side of your viewer window. If you prefer, it can be rotated horizontally and still work. Just give it a minute to reload the images right-side up after you rotate it..

You can click any photo on the "Profile Peeker" to call up a menu with three choices:

1. Profile
2. Attachments
3. History

1. Profile: This button will simply make a text entry in your local chat that only you will see. It will be a link that will open the profile in your viewer for the person you clicked on the HUD.

2: Attachments: This button will scan the avatar you clicked on the HUD and one by one report into your local chat every object that is attached to the avatar you selected. It is a great way to find out how other people have made their avatars look so great. The information that Profile Peeker writes to your local chat is always seen only by you.

3: History: This button will create a special Internet link for you in your local chat for your eyes only.. The link will take you to a web page that will show you current and historical information of the profile you selected. The information in the history web page will be limited to whatever the Profile Peeker has seen of that profile, so there may be things missing. The history web page is best viewed on Chrome or Firefox. It works poorly on Internet Explorer and not at all on the built-in browser of most SL viewers.

The current version of "Profile Peeker" v1.8 can now only be obtained through the SL Marketplace. Older versions could be copied and transferred. Please do let friends know about this handy HUD, but they will have to buy their own at the marketplace. The more people that use it, the more effective it will run. The current price is FREE, but this item will not be free forever.

Profile Peeker will not cause lag as it has a land impact of zero and only a single script. It will not function on lands where scripts are disabled. Because it shows you up to 20 textures, it can trigger a notice from some viewers that it could be lowering your performance. The truth is that your viewer usually has thousands of textures loaded and the 20 small images on the Profile Peeker HUD will not make a noticeable difference.
