Contact avatars in-world from outside of Second Life.
You don't need to be logged in to send an Instant Message to your friends.
E-mail messages to avatars, and they will receive it as an IM.
If you forward your IMs to email, you can carry on conversations with SL residents while not logged into SL!
Note: you must leave the email-to-IM device rezzed in-world.
PS: IM's sent from objects appear in the general chat window, not a separate IM window like IMs sent from avatars.

Definitely a five star item. Works great!. If you got a wireless 3G phone that can pick up email or access the internet its even better! You can contact your friends in-world anytime.
This is excellent. I'm headed off on a book tour soon, and I was concerned with how I would stay in touch with my customers in-world while I was on the road. This product and an iPhone solved my problem!
