adorable, functional
I first saw one of these at a friend's place and it creeped me out that it watched you but that's one of the reasons I had to get one myself. The instructions are pretty cut and dry and easy to follow.
NO COPY
Omg I feel so silly.
This is the second cat greeter I've bought from Romah (the first was the black cat three years ago)
But after buying this cutie, I'm sad to find out it is NO COPY - I'm sure the developer has their reasons (like not wanting you to rez multiple greeters out for different locations???), but I hate limitations, the first thing I went to do was copy it in case I made a mistake with editing the notecard - It is NOT boxed so you can't rez a new one, If you make a mistake or need to start over your are SOL. Other than that, the notecard is pretty simple to mod and you can def change what the hovertext says (despite what the other review on this product says)
But I'm rating this 3 stars mainly because of the no copy factor. (Most SL user are not scriptors or modders to begin with, there are bound to be mistakes. Please consider at least boxing your product so we can start over if/when we make a mistake).
Unchangeable hovertext
I would really love to give this a higher rating, because it's cute, but the cat has three lines of fixed hovertext that can't be changed. (Part of which says $L rather than L$, which bugs me.) I know the description says "Shows floating text" with "message," but I assumed that the message would be configurable, as the first part of the item's description says "change welcome message." It turns out the "welcome message" is one that the greeter speaks, not part of the hovertext.
