Realistic Fur - Bump and specular maps
A bump map and a specular map that can be applied to modify-able body parts to make your fuzzy furry avatar look much more realistic!

Used a Jex avatar for the example.
I recommend you change the horizontal and/or vertical scales of the maps. In the screenshot I changed the fur's map horizontal scale to 3.600 and the nose's vertical scale to 2.000. You can experiment with the values to fit your needs.
I also recommend to change the specular map's glossiness value to around 200, environment value to around 10-20 and to change the color to something much darker, just a couple of pixels above pitch black in the color selection menu.
Genius
Whatever you did you stumbled upon an awesome idea. This combo of bump and specular works on practically all my furry critters that came all flat from the creator with their base texture and nothing else. Yeah you just play with the horizonal/vertical scale and the rotation of just the bump and shine values and BOOM! you now have an actual "furry" and not a hairless molerat. Nicely done. And OMGosh L$1
Really Nice!
Works quite well and very easy to use. Can't use it though on just any avatar but it's not the fur bump or speculars fault, just a lot of avatar bodies/heads don't have separate faces for parts you might not want to put the fur on like your nose, tongue or other parts you'd want to keep looking like flesh/skin. All in all though it's a really great set of textures and for just a single L it is well worth picking this up.
