RESURRECTION (ANASTASIS) ICON 1
This icon is a representation of Christ rising from the dead and raising the dead to new life. In it, Christ stands upon the gates of Hell, which have been torn down, and lifts Adam and Eve to new life. The keys to Hell and the grave are depicted trampled beneath His feet, and in many icons in this motif Death is depicted vanquished and chained. (Icons of this motif are alternatively entitled “The Harrowing of Hell”.)
This SL icon is one of our “standard” or “mute” icons — it is merely a reproduction of an image, as opposed to our “talking” icons, which display quotes from Scripture when touched.
Our icons are created for private use and display in churches and other places in SL. They should not be resold or adapted for resale. Their size and position can be modified. Copy and Transfer permissions depend upon the particular version of the icon purchased.
