Rey's Heater Shield 01 - Medieval shield textures
12 different designs, normal maps included. Put them on flat prims, set alpha mode to masking and cutoff around 100 and you have some lovely wall decorations for your home or castle. They can be used for simple wearables too of course but please note that there are no separate textures for the back of the shields.
For those who are interested, the heater shield first appeared towards the end of the 12th century. Easier to handle than the old kite shields yet providing better coverage than the even older round shields, it soon became the standard both for foot soldiers and cavalry throughout Europe and remained so until firearms made shields obsolete. It is also of curse the model for the heraldic shield design. The name is 19th century, in the medieval times they were simply called "shields".
A set of different battered shields like this would probably be a collection of trophies from fallen enemies and family heirlooms handed down through the generations.
