Please read and understand permissions for these textures BEFORE purchasing. They are primarily meant to be used on terrain. I also offer a full-perm set for builders

-Second life now allows for 1024x1024 sized textures for Terrain. This means that the detail can be twice as much as the previous 512x512. However, I have found not all viewers allow for them to be uploaded to the terrain yet, so try using a different viewer to upload them if you are having trouble, or use the 512x512 textures if you must. You will notice the change in quality almost instantly at near photo quality.
-This Pack of textures was mostly put together from photos I took up north from where I live. They are all seamless and very high quality that should help add a lot of depth to your sim.
-For the textures to look their best though, do not stretch the terrain too much or they will appear blurry. A fair amount of smooth hills will produce the best overall appearance. Also, not all the textures will blend well together if there are very dark ones used next to a very light one.
-Buyers may use these textures on their own sims and in their builds, but may not distribute them freely or sell them.

Amazing Quality ! Excellent Price
I never really write reviews, but I was really taken by the quality of the texture pack I purchased that was recommended from a fellow second lifer in a group support chat. I have a system that works in unison with a weather system. I noticed that everything looks amazing when it rains or snows since the items have a built-in weather FX system that enhances a wet, dry or snow look to it. The only struggle I had was trying to find the right look of dirt for the ground. Now, this was not easy as the textures I looked around for were just plan, no life to them. The goal was to find a dirt texture that would look perfect to the style of look I was aiming towards. I have a horse stable on my land so I needed a treaded dirt look and it could not look like it was perfectly raked. I was advised to try the Rochambeau textures. It was love at first sight. You can tell the creator really put some love in this item since I have not seen a quality like this in a very long time. It made me sad to only see a few reviews. I really would like the thank the creator and for the price from what I paid to find quality like this was a steal. I decided to also change my base-grass look as it looked so much better than the default grass/land my parcel came with. Finally, I am picky. that is why I never leave these, the dirt patch looked so real, I had to rez out my boots to walk on it, I did not want my other sneakers to get dirty... so there is that. *** Disclaimer*** I am not affiliated with the creator nor its designs, I did not get any commission, freebies or favors by posting this review. May your SL stay blessed and let your creativity soar! All the best... Toby Nadezda.
Gorgeous textures that fit together well
Of course these are meant for your own use on your island -- that's why they are called "terrain textures" and you wouldn't expect them to be on full perms then!
They really are beautiful and I especially like the "swamp" dirt that doesn't *have* to be put in a swamp but goes together nicely with the grass textures. It's hard to get the textures on an island to move seamlessly from one level to another but these work great -- and even work with the Linden Lab textures in the library which I personally want to include sometimes. All in all, they're great, and I can also use them on prims or sculpties on the mainland - they look ok on JVTEK sculpties with some adjustments although best on an island terrain.
Great Textures, poor perms.
I'm as guilty for this as anyone, and thankfully it served my purpose either way (sim terrain). When buying textures though, i automatically assume full perms. As textures are generally for creators. These are in fact no Transfer, and it says it clearly on marketplace, which i failed to read. Disappointing. These will never be used past sim terrain in my eyes. At the price point, there are better full perm options.
I gave two starts, because the price point is high for the perms, quality is good however.
I love these textures to bit ... but
hate to do this. I honestly do. Giving these textures 3 stars instead of the 5 they deserve. And I do this due to a slight surprise. See in the description about these non-transfer textures it says:
"Buyers may use these textures on their own sims and in their builds, but may not distribute them freely or sell them"
Now this is exactly what non-transfer meen to me. Evidently it seems I've never bought non-transfer textures before, and I got a gazillion of textures, but for some strange reason these (and perhaps all I have no idea) non-transfer textures can't be applied to a prim the normal way. Meaning that instead of dragging the texture to the window in the Edit window, you have to drag the texture onto the surface (face) of the prim you want to texture.
This is a hazzle I could have lived without. And simply due to this the 850L seems very expensive. Too expensive actually. I already had the 512 full perm textures but figured I would treat myself with these 1024 versions just for my own parcel. But I can already see myself in the future using the 512 ones instead of these despite the slightly lower level of details.
I have tried to figure out, even to come up for an exuse for Leviathan, why this box is not full perm. But I can't come up with anything no matter how much I try. I keep hearing this angry voice in the back of my head saying: "There's no excuse. Making these textures in a 1024 version would, at best, have been something the good creators in SL would have send out to customers that already had bought the 512 box. At worst they should at least have been full perm. The way things are it just feels ... cheap".
You live and learn and this lesson costed me 850L. I'm just happy I found out before I also bought the 2.0 box in this 1024 version. What a shame! Really it is. It should have been great and I would have loved to throw a 5 stars review at this product. But sadly I can't.
