Royal Game of Ur Version 2.3
The game is an early form of backgammon. roll the sticks/dice and move or capture pieces to send them back to the beginning. Related to Senet.
The royal game of Ur has it's origins during the kingdom of Babylon. The Babylonian game was played in Egyptian and later became an Egyptian version called twenty squares. Most Egyptian games were 2 player games with a few games being multi-player. The games ranged from simple to extremely colorful and sometimes had a religious significance to them. The rosettes had a special meaning within Egyptian culture and are there considered safe zones within the game. This is one of the older games in history, it is a predecessor to the modern backgammon game.
