Details

I hoppe you'll appreciate this special creation. It represents many weeks of work.
I tried to create an unique environement as real as possible, another thing than modern or medieval prefabs, a kind that allows SL residents to enjoy an urban life.

All textures were designed on photoshop excusivly for this apartment, nothin is flat, and everything is rendered with ambiant lights. I created complex textures and used some sculpties to save many prims (i didn't used huge prims).

The apartment is mod-copy no transfer, feel free to add your touch, decorations, furnitures, or to remove some prims.
Every furnitures are linked to the level 1 and the level 2. Check the update details at the end.

1/ the rezzer system

The rezzer system allow you to rez simply your apartment on your land.
At first drop the rezzer on the ground
Next sit on the rezzer and type in chat the height of your choice
You will be teleported to the height and the apartment will rezz automatically, ready to be used.
I advice you to lock the skybox to don't take it by accident.

2/ The teleporter system

Once the skybox apartment rezzed to the height of your choice, drop the "Teleporter core" where you want in your skybox (you can link it to the apartment or change the aspect if you want).
Next drop as many "Teleporter pad" as you want on your sim, they will connect to the core and will teleport you to it.
It's usefull to go in your skybox from the ground.

3/ The TV

The TV works with Freeview.
A special media texture is inclued

4/ The shelf system

You will find it under the tv in the living room.
Click on it and a menu will appear. This scripted shelf allow you to change fastly the music on your land.
You can preset 30 stream url in the shelf notecard

5/ The Bedroom

In the room, there is a little light switcher next to the door. Click on it and a menu will apear with a list of room styles:
punk, african, student, zen.
Select your choice and the walls and ceiling will change.
You can add your own styles too.

OK - lets start this off by saying that this is, without a doubt, the best looking skybox I have ever seen in SL. The textures and lighting effects are gorgeous and its a place I would love to live in irl - it really is that pretty.

There are a few unfortunate downsides to this build:

- The furniture provided has shadows textured into the textures of the building rather than as a seperate shadow prim. So, for example, if you want to move the sofa you are left with an unsightly dark spot on the floor. In my case I replaced the sofa with one of my own and luckily it lined up with the shadow texture. However if you decide, for example that you want to move furniture around then you will have problems. I decided to replace the bed, for example, but now have unexplained shadows on the bedroom floor where the old bed was.

- The decor on the walls (Paintings and stuff) are, especially on the 2nd floor, embedded into the main wall texture meaning that if you want to have different pictures or no pictures you may have problems.

- I think the bathroom and bedroom need a door of some kind to complete the realistic effect.

Both of these issues are because the builder wisely decided to keep the prim count as low as possible. I just wonder if there were other areas he could have done this eg: the sofa has a beer can on it taking up a prim that wasnt really needed.

I have to emphasise once again though that this skybox is absolutely great. I only include the criticisms in the hope of a version 2 sometime in the future. If the builder can address the issues this skybox will go from great to flawless in my estimation. Most people however will be totally happy with it in its current form - however people like me who like to customise a build will have some difficulties.

But for the effort that the builder has put in combined with the beautiful texture work I would be unfair to give this anything less than 5 stars. Despite the faults theres nothing better out there and believe me I have seen tons of skyboxes trying to find the perfect apartment.

I rate this 5 stars simply because it provides a very good appartment perfectly textured (Impressive shadow effects O.o). The rezzer is easy to use (just say the height you want to rez at) and fast. Some funny features (not useless) are provided with the product (like poseballs, shower animated with particles and sounds, an object wich configures the audio stream of your land etc...) I DO recommend this product for every land owners who are looking for a realistic build.
