This is the first in my Ice Age line of animals and items. It is a sculpted, detailed and well textured Sabretooth Cat species known as Smilodon Fatalis.
Smilodon Fatalis evolved around 1.6 milion years ago and died out circa 10 000 years ago at the end of the last Ice Age. About the size of the modern Siberian Tiger, the Smilodon was among the largest cats ever to have lived.
It roamed pleistocene North America feeding in Bison, Ground Sloths, deer, young mastodons, american camels or horses. Its muscular bulky build suggest that it was an ambush predator, that caught its prey by suprise instead of giving it a long chase. It might have also attacked early americans, though this remains certain.
This fierce carnivore wil certainlyl be a great addition to your prehistoric, zoo or fantasy-themed sim.
