■ ABOUT HJARTA

A recessed door at the intersection of two concrete walls create the symbolic core of this studio: a protected centre, and the experience of stepping from compression into openness mirrors the idea of a heart: guarded, then expansive. Around the concrete is corten steel: introducing warmth and texture without softening to structure. Additional (optional) boulders on sand echo restraint, gravity, connection.
