Shade Fantasy Outfitters

Incredibly realistic! The Shade Tumbleweed has a couple bonus features for added authenticity.

Simply touch to activate dust particles that swirl around the tumbleweed and/or play an eerie wind sound effect, with volume control. The tumbleed travels in a large circle, which you can increase or decrease, depending on the distance you would like it to travel.

This novely item makes a fabulous addition to any themed environment and is just one of those things you never knew you absolutely had to have!

Tumbleweeds for not-so-wide-open spaces
full star full star full star empty star empty star Posted May 09, 2015 by Yuki Rain

These tumble weeds look much better in a semi-enclosure than in a wide open space. I think this is because the enclosure "explains" to the eye their obviously circular motion. As noted in other reviews, they move pretty fast, and there is no speed control. As not noted elsewhere, they move in a fixed plane, so that if you want to put them on any kind of hillside, they will either float about it at some part of their "orbit" or disappear below the ground. We have not been able to work out a way to tilt the plane of rotation, so we let them go underground as this somewhat disguises the circular motion. They do not, btw, "tumble", they float.

They rez full-bright, which can be switched off for the weeds, BUT not for the dust particles. Leave 'em off. Dark tumbleweeds scattering pixie-dust across your desert at night looks kinda stupid, I'm afraid.

These weeds are very fair value for the money, but we still found them something of a disappointment. On the sim where we first saw them (Ocho Tango), in a small abandoned courtyard, they looked nothing short of *awesome*. On the open hillside outside our caravanserai, they look much less so. Too bad...

Dustbunny rather than Tumbleweed

It's not bad for the price, it serves it's purpose, but it doesn't really move naturally. It sort of..flops in a circle with particle effects. Definitely not worth more than what they did price it for, it is nice with the extra features of sound and particles which is why I'm giving it three stars.

I'd call it a oversized dustbunny rather than tumbleweed. (The textures are decent, but..nothing to scream about.)

meh, not really impressed with it, but I appreciate the effort.

Looks alright, but spins really fast around a root prim, in a rather small radius... not really something i'd say is "realistic" and definitely not "natural movement". The sounds and particles are ok, and easy to adjust by clicking on the tumbleweed.

Looks good but moves too fast

This has some nice features, it looks great, the dust particles are nice, but it just moves so fast it's quite unnatural. If i could slow it down, I would love it.
