A very simple light projector made from a basic square prim.
Must activate "Advanced Lighting"
This can be used to make shadows and also add light. You will need to hit CTR + ALT + T to make the prim visible and then rotate it to where you want the lighting.
Very useful when you need a shadow.
You can edit the projecor just like you can a basic prim of your own. Add it to a part of your body and you can bring it everywhere with you. Set the transparency of the projector prim low so you can see the prim, set the environment at no light or midnight to see the most shadow intensity. You can double the intensity to put a copy of the prim at the exactly the same place by changing Position
in the object tab of the prim. So far the most simple but best shadow maker.
Worth it...if you don't know how to build, and have money to spend.
Anyone can make this, but 10L$ is worth having someone else do it for you...if you're not interested in building at all. It takes only a minute to make (a friend told me how to do it, after I told them I bought this one) and doesn't cost a thing, but it's the same as uploading a texture or buying it from the MP; same price, so overall it's a good job. I was not upset to learn I had paid 10L$ for something I could have made myself.
Oh so PERFECT!
Now my skybox has wonderful shadows, looks amazing, thank you!
Is exactly as I wanted
So... I have the dumb, but with some fiddling I figured out how to get a shadow! And it's a good shadow.
As the creator said, you do need advanced lighting model on, but.... you should also have a roof over you. I tried getting a shadow out on the open, no walls around me and all I got was light. It wasn't until I brought the projector into my skybox that I got a shadow. AND now I think I can take professional-ish pics of myself!
Love It!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Once I figured out how to use it I was good to go. I recommend making a note card and adding it to the folder so you wont forget how to pull up the prim. That way you do not have to search for the product in case you forget.
