This is a completely silent sound file. Playing this sound will not actually cause you to hear anything! This silent/blank sound file has a very particular use. Use it when you need something to be quiet, but the noisy scripted object you're modding technically needs a sound file to function properly.
I created this item for an extremely specific scenario:
- A fantasy avatar came with a nifty animation/emote HUD.
- I did not like the sounds that played automatically with the emotes.
- I did not see a "mute sounds" option on the HUD (maybe there was one and I'm just stupid).
- You could mod the HUD!
- I just wanted no sounds at all. No yelling, no loud footstep sounds. But deleting the sounds caused an endless loop of script errors!
- The HUD needed sound files to play or else it would break. I decided to have it play silent "sounds"!
- I made multiple copies of the silent file and named them the exact same titles as all the sounds in the HUD, then replaced the originals.
- The HUD thinks it's playing sounds, I don't hear any freaky screaming noises, or any noises for that matter, all is well!
