Simple Mesh Door Script DEMO Version 1.0

MESH DOOR SCRIPT (easy to use) DEMO

These scripts can be used in mesh doors or mesh windows indistinctly. The instructions are written for doors, but exactly the same process applies to windows. So if you want to use them with mesh windows instead of mesh doors, just replace the word "door" with "window" in your mind as you read :)

The scripts can also be used with sculpted doors and windows instead of mesh doors and windows.

The scripts only work for single-prim mesh doors or sculpt doors, if they are to be linked. For unlinked doors, they can be multi-prim, as long as the door is the root prim. To be sure, try the demo on a copy.

This is the demo version. Please try it before purchasing the complete version. There will be no refunds if you purchase the complete version of the scripts and they do not suit your needs, as you are assumed to have tried with this demo version first. Note that the demo version scripts are COPY/NO TRANSFER/NO MODIFY, but the complete version scripts are COPY/TRANSFER/NO MODIFY (you can use them in builds you sell or distribute).

Setting up your door is just a question of choosing the right script and putting it in your door. This is how to determine which of the eight included scripts is the correct one:

First, rez a copy of your mesh door, and set the rotation to X=0, Y=0, Z=0.

The door needs to be vertical (i.e. upright or upside-down) *after* setting the rotation. If it isn't, none of these scripts will work! In that case, please contact Sei Lisa for a custom version adapted to your needs (there are a total of 24 possible setups and not all of them are included!!).

Now, edit the door you have rezzed and look at the movement arrows. You need to choose only one of the provided scripts, depending on which arrow points towards the hinge or away from the hinge, as follows:

- If the red arrow points to the hinge, use one of the the <SeiS> Simple Mesh Door DEMO +X scripts.
- If the red arrow points away from the hinge, use one of the the <SeiS> Simple Mesh Door DEMO -X scripts.
- If the green arrow points to the hinge, use one of the the <SeiS> Simple Mesh Door DEMO +Y scripts.
- If the green arrow points away from the hinge, use one of the the <SeiS> Simple Mesh Door DEMO -Y scripts.
- If the hinge is at an angle with respect to the arrows, you will need a custom script adapted to your build. Please contact Sei Lisa in that case.

Next, select the direction you want your doors to open:

- If you want the door to open towards you when the hinge is to your left, or away from you when the hinge is to your right, then select the script that ends in CW (which stands for clockwise).
- If you want the door to open away from you when the hinge is to your left, or towards from you when the hinge is to your right, then select the script that ends in CCW (which stands for counter-clockwise).
- If the door is built upside down, you may need to select the opposite direction of rotation for it to swing in the expected direction.

Once you know which of the scripts suits your needs, take note, and then you can delete the copy of the door that you rezzed if necessary. Now drop the correct script into your door. That's it! No more setup is required. Touch to open and touch again (or wait 30 seconds) to close.

If all that sounds too complicated, just try each script in turn. One or more of them will work. If neither does, you may need a custom version. Please contact Sei Lisa in that case.

The demo scripts will work only for 5 open/close cycles. That should be enough for you to determine whether the scripts suit your needs and work with your doors. If that is not the case, please don't purchase the complete version! Contact Sei Lisa instead.

If 5 open/close cycles are not enough for you, just drop the script again for 5 more cycles.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

It does not handle security (restrict who can open the door), double doors, size-changing or sliding doors. If you want a script capable of all these things, please check the UniDoor™ system (Setup + Runtime) in Related Items below.

It doesn't support open-on-collision or open-on-sensor either. If you need that, you can contact Sei Lisa for a custom version.
