Thank you for considering the Simple Demo Rezzer:
On rezzing this object you will see 8 mesh DEMO prims and a cone in the center.
The cone is the root prim of this linkset and must stay that way.
This system is meant to rez your demo objects for your store and when set up correctly, it will not use up the object count of your land to have the demos out in world. It accomplishes this by having your demo objects set to temporary which in most cases they will last in world for 60 seconds.
When someone wants to see another demo they can click another demo prim. The previous demo object will disappear and the new one will be shown.
The demo prims are meant to be shown under or near the single item vendors that you have placed around your store.
There is only 1 script in the root cone prim that handles everything this rezzer display does.
You may resize the cone to your liking and place it underneath the floor where you'd like the objects to be shown.
To get started, click one of the demo prims and you will see an example demo object appear near the cone. Edit it and take out the script inside it into your inventory. This script will be placed inside each of your demo products that you want displayed.
Once this is done you will notice that some or all of your demo products might not appear exactly where you'd like them to be. Also, some of them might not be rotated correctly. To fix this simply edit the product and move and rotate it how you would want it to be displayed. Touch the object to save it's position and rotation information in it's object description and then take it back to inventory. Replace the old copy inside the display with your updated copy. Click the demo prim again to see that it is now located and rotated where it was before.
Repeat this process for all of the demo products you'd like displayed in your store on demand.
As this is all one linkset you will need to use the edit linked parts checkbox in the edit dialog to be able to move each part. Arrange these how you would like around your store area.
The ideal setup is to have your vendors on the walls of your store and near each one there will be a demo prim for them to use to show the item in world.
if you check the name of each demo prim, you will see that they are all named corresponding to the product loaded into the display. You must rename them to match the names of the product you want each one to display.
You may unlink one of the demo prims and make copies of it and then relink it to have more than 8 demo prims for use with the display. Also you may use any object you link as a "button" to display the products. These buttons do not require a script in them to work. The cone can detect which demo prim that the customer clicked and uses the name of that demo prim to determine which product to rez.
If you need less than 8 buttons you can just unlink them as needed and discard.
The position offset is capable of putting the object anywhere in the region. If you decide to put the object far out of view, your object could then activate a teleporter or chat an SLurl for them to click to go view the demo.
If your demo is more than one linkset, it's still possible to display it all with this display. Each part of your demo would need to be setup as individual items first .. each having it's own demo prim button to show it so that you may be able to store each part's position and rotation. Once you have set each of them up, Rez and arrange them one last time and take them all at once into inventory. The part you selected last will become the name of the object and it will show a broken box as the object icon in inventory. Put that entry into the display and name a display button accordingly. The display will then rez them all at once and since each one has the position and rotation data stored they should arrange themselves correctly.
You should find this is a very efficient display for your store and is simple to setup.
As a bonus, one of the demo prims shows the demo prim as the example demo product. This example is copy/mod/transfer so you can use it in your own creations even if that creation is just the demo prim by itself.
