Sky's the Limit Watchtower Version 1

The "Sky's the Limit Watchtower" is, to the best of our knowledge, the tallest structure ever made in Second Life. Not counting the thick base (designed for hilly terrain) or the flashing red and white lights on top (designed to minimize aviation accidents) it measures approximately 588 meters in height.

This was a fun build from the initial concept to the deep foundation for hilly terrain to the red strobe light on the top. Much of it was done with math to get things to fit perfectly, and we hoped for the best as each piece rezzed into place.

There are ten levels. But there could easily have been (or could be) many, many more. Since you can't see the top from the ground, or vice versa, as it stands, it made no sense to keep building.

There are ten levels for enjoying the view, all connected by teleporters. I thought about stairs, but they'd get used exactly once before the novelty wore off. Yellow teleporters are the local TPs that go floor to floor, and the green are the express that travel between the base and the tower roof.

This build is made to be customized to fit your own needs for, perhaps, roleplaying. The entrance to the front doors flanking each side of the entry stairs have two statues on pedestals. One is "the Spirit of Life" as seen in Saratoga's Congress Park in memory of the Trask family. The other is Azura the Daedric Princess of Dusk and Dawn. On the outside of each door is a standard Craftsman light with working interior light switch, and on the inside are two wall torches. The flames are user controlled. Touch for on and off, touch and hold to control the flames themselves.

The ground level has stained glass nondenominational windows. The interior is empty. It is for you to outfit and decorate your way. A church? A medieval castle? A unique home?

Similarly, each level provides only a view. The rest is up to you. The outside facade of each rising section is high gloss stone, so that it appears shiney metal. Take the shine off and you have stone. We can help with that, if needed, at no charge to you.

The top is a 64m diameter tower with crenulated battlements. Perfect for either dumping hot oil or big pink rubber balls, which will bounce pretty far if done right.

When it comes to this watchtower, the sky is the limit and bounded only by your imagination.
