These smooth, low lag and low memory scripts can be used for swings, rocking chairs, clock pendulums, fulcrums, etc - anything that needs to be scripted with a periodic oscillation.
The angle to swing, axis to swing along, and the period are all configurable via notecard. There are three scripts included: one that activates/deactivates the swinging on touch, one that activates/deactivates when avatar(s) sit or stand up, and one that works with both events.
Please Note: These are scripts for the swinging aspect only. You will need to provide your own objects to use them in, as well as any desired animation/sit-target related scripts.
See item in Second Life- Smooth, low lag rotations.
- Swing angle, axis, and period are configurable by notecard.
- 3 scripts included w different triggering mechanisms
Works good
It works good using the note card that goes with the script
not impressed.
First of all the script is no modify, which means I cant read it to tweak it to do what I needed.
2. The prim swung side to side. Not back and forth. And even adding another prim didnt help. This is a for a MESH haunted rocking horse. So a simple back and forth rocking motion is what I was looking for it. This is not it. The prim slides side to side, and you cannot modify the script to make it function right. it is copy and transfer only. Plus I had to put a scrubber in because once I shut the scripts off the rocking horse started to spin slowly.
3. for added fun (or confusion) There is a configuration notecard. This is for a simple rocking horse. So the build didnt work, but for a free script, it's good for practice. However, I hit Builders Brewery because you are likely to find something that works a bit better, without the configuration notecard, and the one I found is full perm, so I was able to delete this one. Still for the price worth a try.
Works Great
So appreciate the gift, thank you. Very easy to setup.
Perfect!
It swings perfectly. You can change the axis, and it swings very smooth. Thank you so much !
It works!
Getting tired with laggy swing, especially when it costs hundreds lindens. This one is amazingly very smooth even in pretty crowded sim and free! Thanks
