Details

Welcome to FERAL - Facility for the Examination and Research of Alien Lifeforms. This is a self-contained module for your Starbase that can be used to monitor alien lifeforms for careful observation, examination and study, whilst maintaining a high level of security and safety for the scientists. Well, that's the theory.

- Dedicated Starbase module
- Two bulkhead doors, central walkway, containment zone
- Observation Room with lockable auto-sliding door
- Can deploys emergency metal shutters on touch
- Includes Magno-Bolt magnetic plates for easy alignment
- FREE! Lifeform Containment Unit - with animated tentacled alien

The Facility has an Observation Room, a central walkway and a containment area. There are bulkhead doors at either end of the facility and wide windows around the sides. The windows can be sealed off with a steel shutter in case of an emergency.

Observation Room:
The Observation Room is located behind toughened glass and access is through a lockable sliding door. The door open as you approach and closes automatically behind you. There's a notecard inside the door with instructions on how to lock the door and restrict access. You can add designated staff to the list so only a select few can use the door.

Containment Zone:
The Containment area has large plasma screens on the walls and space for installing the alien containers. You can put whatever you want into your alien research lab, but we have constructed some special Lifeform Containment Units. designed for the job. There are three auto-align Magno-Bolt magnetic plates where you can attach your Units. You get a free Lifeform Containment Unit included with this module, along with an alien lifeform to examine!

Emergency Lockdown
In the case of an alien entity breaking out of its container, you can perform an emergency lockdown! There's a thick metal shutter you can activate on touch, which slowly lowers to completely cover the windows and isolates the facility. Great for Role Play - not so great for the research staff that are still trapped inside the lab. They can always hide in the Observation Room behind that lockable sliding door and watch it through the glass wall partition. Let's hope the escaped alien's not the sort that spits acid!

This module is only 22 prims.

FREE: Lifeform Containment Unit:
You get a free Lifeform Containment Unit included with this module, along with a live alien lifeform to examine! The unit has a glass dome that can be rolled open or closed by touching it, and locked by the owner. It also has a series of pulsing data screens that vary from container to container.

Free: Lifeform to examine!
There's a variety of lifeforms for you to check out - available from Exosphere. We have included a designated 'Class A' lifeform for you to use in your Role Play. It's a Psy-Zorgan - a multi-limbed aquatic beast from the swamps of Zorga, that thrashes its tentacles around in a very realistic manner. These are some of the best animated tentacles you'll see in Second Life. The Psy-Zorgan is kept in the liquid grunge from it's home world, which you can actually see swirling about. Psy-Zorgans are reported to use telepathic abilities on their prey to coax them into its poisonous tentacles. If you touch the sides of the container, the dome will fill with a thick, green tranquilizing gas, but it seems to have become immune to it. Touch the container again to clear away the gas.

Very nice design and clever magnetic assembly

Very well conceived with this magnetic modular technique to put the modules together. The base fits nicely on a 32x32m surface.
