don't recommend to purchase it

This wing has only one layer, and it looks like it is made of plastic. It can't move and is very useless. I regret buying this product. I really don't know what the author thinks and don't make a demo. This wing is not as good as those mentioned above. I don't recommend buying it.

It could have some idle animations. wings look kinda stiff otherwise. but got these for my first actual human avi (kinda made a sorta angel look) and they go well with it. the stillness is really my only complaint. I think they're perfect otherwise.

Finally, properly articulated bird wings that don't look like arse

Seriously, I've been looking through the marketplace for ages for a set of nice looking bird wings.

There's plenty of bird wings but either they bend in ways that no bird wing would bend, or they got rather sparse feathering.

These things are the real deal, they bend proper, the feathers are full. It's done through multiple layers of textures. They are mod perm too, so a DIY person who's good at textures could probably make a lot of interesting things out of these wings.

No uv map is included for these wings however. You are going to have to eyeball it if you make your own textures. My inner texture snoot is tweaked slightly by the fact that the lowermost wing section texture uses significantly less then 50% of its pixels. Most of the texture is just wasted space as far as I can see. I'd normally ding for this sort of mischief but finding a viable set of bird wings has been rather hard and a lot of other things they do right.

Texture space wise they weigh in at 2 1024^2 textures.

They weight in at about 14k display weight. The textures are already alpha-masked so you won't get quick easy gains by tweaking that.

Biggest Biggest biggest gripe I have with these things is the size.

Most wing vendors I have dealt with at least give out several sizes of wing with a purchase. Like Small Medium and Large and you figure out the ones that fit your avatar best. These things, come in about this size only: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/283817570417639425/454406572765085697/small_wings.png

If that size is unsuitable for you, consider the purchase.

However, do consider it's only 189 lindens. That's pretty darn cheap for an attachment. Not even 1 USD. I'd say it's worth it.

I love these goddamn wings

First things first, I got these wings knowing I would use a different animation HUD, so I don't have anything to say about its native animation. However I was really excited about finding these wings because they ended up being perfect for a character of mine, and they're beautifully textured. Great job!

I've been using these wings for a while now (first in the bird mods and then grabbing this pair specifically for other avatars). The textures are beautiful. The mesh itself has a lot of personality (the tears in some of the feathers caught my eye immediately and I fell in love). The idle animations are lovely.

I can agree with some of the statements made in the comments and should point out that I use them primarily on Kemono:

- They're a bit low. This is actually good, since most wings sit FAR too high up the back. Wings would require what amounts to a second pair of shoulder blades; this means that pair has room to move.

- They're big (particularly on shorter, slimmer avatars). This is another a plus if you want wings that would actually be able to hold up your avatar in flight. I can see this being a downfall for those who want chibi wings, but I'm one for SOME amount of realism and my avatars shouldn't hummingbird it everywhere if they aren't actually hummingbirds.

- They're small (on larger, bulkier avatars). The option for a larger size would be welcome. I wouldn't use these on, say, a larger gryphon that's meant to look fierce. The fact is, it would look goofy with its tiny, non-supportive wings. XD

- The flapping movements are a bit stiff/mechanical. This is the downfall and a problem that many makers seem to face with Bento wings...but there are other wing animators out there that can override the one built-in, so this is likely a fairly easy fix if you're willing to put in that tiny bit of effort (just make sure there is no deformer).

- They don't FOLD. This is an aspect of every Bento wing that I've tried thus far that I HATE. Not one maker (that I have found) has included the option to actually FOLD wings yet, so this isn't a Sugarcult-exclusive issue.

That said, keep on keepin' on!
