Here we have a nice set of sun/moon rays.

There are 23 meshes in the box, each is only one prim (some are less when linked)

Each one has 4 texture faces to make it easy to add a different color to each face.

You can also add glow and change the transparency settings in edit.

2 of the smaller ones and all of the larger ones are scripted.
