Note: Please make sure you detach any shoe clothing layer you may have on your avatar before using these skates. They are rigged to deform with the foot shape so if you have a high heel foot shape on, it will make the skates look distorted. If they do not look like they do in the picture when you attach them, this is most likely the cause of the problem.
** Super Ice Skates (2014) By Abranimations **
This is a complete overhaul of our popular Ice Skates. These new skates have been completely rebuilt with mesh, include lots of texture and customization options, new mocap animations, redesigned scripts and much more.
To use the skates right click on them in your inventory and select 'Wear'. They are rigged mesh so they will resize automatically to fit your feet. PLEASE NOTE: Because they are rigged, you cannot adjust the size and position after this as you would with prim shoes. However if you adjust the size and shape of your feet for your avatar shape it will be reflected on your skates.
To hide your regular avatar feet so they do not poke through attach the included alpha layer called 'skates alpha'
THE TRICK / CUSTOMISATION HUD
The hud features buttons for 9 trick moves. These are new animations created in our motion capture studio. The HUD also features an options button that will display a new customization page. From this page you can pick one of 9 boot textures and customize the lace color. You can also turn on and off the 'beginners wobble' animation if you want to look like a more experienced skater.
COLLISIONS
If you collide with another avatar while wearing the skates it will cause you to loose your balance and possibly fall over depending on the collision speed. Likewise if a snowball hits you it can knock you over.
SNOWBALLS
Included with the skate is a snowball you can throw at other avatars.
RAMPS
You can create ramps that the skates will respond to by jumping from regular prims by renaming them to one of the following ...

They each result in varying heights.

FUN, FAB HUD with these.... well worth the price!
A friend was wearing these and was kind enough to tell me where she got them. The only thing that isn't perfect, the boots cannot be resized. I'm a small avatar but really no biggie. Besides, it's the HUD that's so cool. You can wear any skates or house slippers for that matter or go bare footen. Just have FUN!!!
The low ratings? Some folks have no imagination, I guess???
Very Disappointed
I bought these for the color hud option but I could not get past how awful they looked. They look like a beginner's attempt at creating ice skates.
Fun animations - wobble, crash, speed skate
The skates look kind of dorky, but the animations are a blast! Wobble like a beginner, crash into others wearing these skates and you both go flying, go into "Always run" and speed skate on open ice. Fun!
They do everything... but skate!
Yes, I have my AOs off. Yes, I tried with arrow keys vs WASD. Yes, I turned off the wobble function on the HUD. I can make them skate only after I've activated a trick, but if I stand still and try to move forward, I just slide. If I'm missing some special thing, let me know and if it works, I'll change review. The instructions say nothing about this issue, however. Waste.
I just have to say this
So the negative reviews for this product are probably a combination of a couple things. Possibly a competitor, and people who must be very slow. 1, The boots do look exactly like the picture despite reviews saying they don't. There's this thing called a HUD that you change the colors with ;). 2, They rez fine. Might want to take a look under the hood of your client (SL`s client, Firestorm etc) if they don't "rez right". 3, They fit fine for me. If they don't fit you for some reason, before leaving a negative review, I would refer you to the product description as it EXPLAINS THIS! 4, They look and perform great. Im buying a second pair for a friend.
