introduced as an alternative to the 12 cylinder cars with it's 10 cylinder engine

it was so successful they outsold every car in it's class in the world! at 500,000 dollars or so a copy. that's a big "or so" they made lots of special models that cost more , and sold all of them too!

one owner put it this way " there is no such thing as going for a "drive" each time you take it out it's an "EVENT" all the cars you are passing, the kids in the car are taking your picture with their phones. you pull up at a red light , people run into the street and people run out to record the exhaust sound with their phone! It;s an event!

the car was so successful , that when it came time to introduce a new model (which was delayed and delayed because they were afraid to replace it) the president of the company came personally to the auto show to introduce the successor !
