TM Chat Floor Description

This floor represents an area where up to 100 avatars on your parcel and near the floor can use local chat to hear each other without shouting.

It comes full size, about 64 x 55 meters, with a chat range of about 42.5 meters from the center in all directions. This represents a diagonal coverage area of about 85 meters.

It is ready to use upon rez.

- It filters out chatty objects.
- It filters out avatars not on your parcel.
- It filters out avatars not near the floor (about half the diagonal length - in all directions). It will tell you it's chat range when it is rezzed or resized to help you position more than one far enough from each other to minimize cross-talk.
- It will not produce echoes for whisper or chat, but shouting can be heard quite a distance anyway, so others might hear both the original shout and then the floor chat. Shouting and whispering are not recommended.
(SL scripts cannot tell the difference between whisper, chat and shout, so anything it hears will be shared.)
Designed for efficiency and low lag.
It adapts its behavior according to sim lag statistics.

Each viewer has preferences for chat color depending on where it originates, so standard chat and chat from the floor may or may not be the same color.

It is modify so you can use the Edit tool to change it's name, size, texture, color, brightness, glow, transparency (clear or not), phantom setting (walk-through or solid). Editing Linked parts can cause a malfunction - not recommended.

It is copy so you can have different versions and a backup also.

It is 7 prims, but has a land impact(prim cost) of 5.
Version 5.2 with twice the performance of version 4.*.

As with any scripted object, it can only operate if the land settings will allow its scripts to run.

Heavy sim lag can cause scripts to misbehave.
