When giving an announcement or presentation in SL, there's no reason not to be prepared! With the RL Technologies TelePrompter, you can deliver your prepared text flawlessly, even making variations on the fly (e.g. induction ceremonies, and the like).

The TelePrompter is a HUD, set to be worn on top left -- you can modify that, of course.

Once you are wearing it or have rezzed it, right-click and Edit it. Change the name from "Teleprompter" so that it will speak using an appropriate name or title. Position it where you would like it to be, change its size if you wish -- play around, since you have copy & mod perms.

Inside the TelePrompter is a Sample Script. Open the Contents tab while editing, and replace that card with up to TWELVE cards of your own. Then you're ready to go.

When it comes time to give a speech, touch it (or use "/6 Activate") to launch the menu, and choose a notecard. The TelePrompter will then use dialog menus to lead you through the card you provided, line by line.

Upon reaching each line, you may select:
"Yes" for the TelePrompter to read that line aloud for the audience to hear
"No" for the TelePrompter to ignore that line and skip to the next
"Whisper" for the TelePrompter to whisper the line to you, to copy, paste, edit and send.

Anything you say with a /6 in front, the TelePrompter will repeat aloud. Therefore your audience will not be able to know which lines were pre-written, which were customized, and which were said "from scratch." Just be sure to remember to use /6 consistently during the presentation!
