A simplified tutorial on how to transform this template into your very own Texture HUD.
Highly suggest you replace my template textures with your own original work.

---

Alright! So you've just started your journey on opening up the best damned store there's ever been - but you have no clue how to change textures via HUD! What do? Quite simple!

The way the script works, it will apply textures named 1 through 15 (or 1 through 5 if you pick something other than the basic one) according to which linked prim (button) is being touched.

Prim number 1 will always be bottom left, whereas prim number 15 will be top right - in other words, you count from left to right, bottom to top.

So, if you're in a hurry, how do you set up the thing quickly? Simple!

Steps:

1 - Place receiver script inside your desired item.
2 - Place your desired textures, named 1 through 15 (or 1-10) inside said item.
3 - Replace the HUD's placeholder textures with your own - and make sure you replace each button with the according texture, so as to not confuse your future user!
4- Rejoice! You've just set up your first texture-swapping hud!

----

There's a more detailed notecard within, to help guide you on how to use the script, and essentially make it your own. This includes adding beyond the 15 lines of texture, how to swap between faces and linked prims, use of UUIDs, etc.

I'm afraid if I gave the full tutorial here, there'd be little point in buying it!

  • Easy to read.
  • Easy to follow.
  • Actual tutorial (as opposed to lsl wikia copy/paste)

I'm not a scripter but this is so easy to use you don't need to know scripting to use it. The basic version is easy-peasy, the faces and linked versions are a bit more tricky, but so worth having.

I bought that tool because I needed to create an hud for glasses I made. Since I'm not the smartest when it comes to scripting stuff, I thought this might be a good alternative. The notecard in it explains pretty much everything you need to know. If you need a hud to retexture your object, you should really give it a try.
