The Theme-O-Matic system is a system for creators that allows customers to change appearance of the object. Your object may be in mesh or traditional build, use materials... just record the parameters you want to apply and on which prims/faces.
It works by applying themes that you define that can include
- face properties: texture, normal map, specular map, color, alpha, glow, full bright, bump shiny, TexGen, Alpha mode
- prim properties: size, local position and orientation, slice, light flexibility, material, name, description, physics shape, hover text, omega
- object properties: phantom, physics
A filter system enables you to define the prims and faces that will be affected by a theme (inclusive mode), or that will NOT be affected by a theme (exclusive mode).
Themes are stored in encrypted notecards: you can have virtually any number of themes and they are protected against errors and hacking. As of version 3.0 you can also directly store them into your object's LSD (Linkset Data) storage, no need for notecards if you choose to!
A preloader system that optionally stores themes in extra optional scripts to allow for ultra-quick theme activation. Themes created with earlier versions remain compatible.
New Utilities menu to manage hard-to-reach properties, new interface scripts (AVSitter, MPS, a Remote Control), a brand new website, optimization and bug fixes. Full theme compatibility with previous versions.
A "Theme toolbox" subsystem to perform special operations like transferring themes between notecards and LSD, with optional remapping (in case you modified your build after the theme was created), and fine control over the Theme-O-Matic and preloaders.
A full scripting interface exists so that themes can be activated by another script (just a message to send) the way you want it: the Theme-O-Matic really acts as a "server" for such scripts.
Standard full-perm clients include simple theme cyclers, with or without, preloaders, automatic menu systems, remote controls, advanced interfaces with popular systems like avSitter
A new fullperm client script "FullMenu" can be used to create a full menu system, with submenus that activates themes and can also perform other operations, all defined in a complete and straightforward notecard.
Permissions: the main "core" script (used for applying themes) and the preloaders are copiable and transferable. The standard client scripts and all interfaces are full perm. The "preparation" scripts (involved in the theme creation process) are copiable but not transferable.

This is worth 6 Stars!
I barely do reviews but this one needs to be reviewed. I use Texture/Material Changers in my products since over a decade and this is by far the best one i ever saw. No matter what kind of changer, function or integration you are looking for, it does it all and more. i switched cause i pushed other and very popular systems to whats even possbile and thats where TOM starts. I would give 6 stars if i could ... just buy it ... it is sooo worth it. ♡

This is a well planned and thought out product with excellent documentation.
Preparation/setup: The set up and preparation of the themes is by far the easiest process I've encounted in any product I've used. The interface is logical and super easy to use.
Implementation: If the out of the box simple interfaces like simple cycles and auto menu meet your needs, they are also easy to use/set up. AND as other reviewers have noted, a knowledge of scripting is helpful if you want to use some of the more advanced interfaces as you'll need to work with and modify the scripts - or else you may need create your own script/modify existing builder scripts so that they talk to Theme-o-matic (T-O-M) API and get it to do what you want, how you want and when you want.

Enjoying It So Far
It's been a long search to find a feature rich menu driven script dedicated to offering themes for my builds, so when I stumbled upon Theme-O-Matic it was like finding water in a desert!
Makes creating theme notecards a breeze without the pitfalls I've experienced with other products. I'm very pleased so far, this is just what I needed! Thank you for providing an easy to use solution for us non-programmer types!
It does exactly what I need it to do, records the look (textures, color, glow, etc) of my object into a theme and, using the included auto menu client, makes a list of presets for users to choose from. I love it!

It integrates AVsitter very well,has preloader scripts which speed your theme fast,record every aspect of your object in a blink,support materials and omega and alot alot more.
Documentation on the web site is rich and detailed and wont leave you dry. If you dont like to read this system is not for you.That's said,the tool wont do your work lol.
Something is missing is Access control (owner,group,everyone) integrated in the Avsitter menu since ask an end user to mod in the script could not be friendly at all.Luckly is something in the Oggy's to-do list.

i bought it 2 years ago and i m a bit late with review but i m here now to give some justice for a tool who deserve sure five stars!
this is not a "kit" for the general consumer
just a fair warning......this is a kit for the Intermediate Scripter! i'm used to editing scripts and nc's but this is FARRRR from simple editing. however........the scripting-enthusiast/hobbyist will LOVE this. it's highly customizeable and very scaleable w/online instructions and blog to navigate your way thru to completion of your making :D the price for such a scripting design-friendly is a plus too.
