Have you ever heard about the “Thornycroft”, an old, historical steam torpedo speedboat? It was built in the 1880’s in the shipyard of Sir Isaac Thornycroft (1843-1928). These steam engine speedboat were the first “modern” torpedo boats. This vessel was originally capable of steaming at 17½ knots over a measured mile; a high speed for those days.

Now to the SL ship:

This wonderfully crafted steamboat is a static model. It has no sailing script, but it has some nice scripted details: The commanding officer will find several levers at the bridge: Steam engine sound, steam from the smokestacks, foghorn and searchlight. And of course, these features work: If you click the levers, you can hear the steam engine, you will see a lot of smoke, the fog horn is hooting and the search light illuminates the night!
