The movement of prims within a virtual world is appropriate in many situations such as for show (i.e. parades) or as a form of transportation (i.e. trains) as well as entertaining avatars (i.e. amusement rides).

Vehicle-Move System from Kerhop's Innovations allows you to specify a starting location, smooth travel along a path, and the ending location of a prim with minimal editing of a notecard all without causing sim lag due to physics.

Working examples of a parade, train, bucket, and more are all included for your review in preparation for your own creations. All scripts are no-modify, but they are yes-copy/yes-trans (with restrictions).

What's New in Version 7.1
=================
Added a new enginemindistance(#.##) command
Optimized vehicle following for horse/buggy and train/car
Improved lag-detection code for use in busy sims.
Faster reprogramming of already moving vehicles
Fixed various bugs and misc. other minor issues

A Note About "ms": One of the many factors that contributes towards lag in Second Life is how many milliseconds of time is used by a script on a regular basis. With all other things being equal (i.e. memory usage) a collection of high-resource scripts will eventually slow a server/sim down.

A script that uses additional resources temporarily while switching modes or processing data is less of a concern than those constantly using a lot of resources. Sim owners have a tool known as "Top Scripts" to determine which scripts utilize the most.

With this information they may choose to restrict the use of or eliminate those scripts that have a tendancy of using lots of resources. For more information: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Region_Performance_Improvement_Guide

Buyer Beware

I rarely leave reviews, but after days of working with this product, I feel obligated to share my experience. The concept is brilliant, a modular transport system using notecards for segmented movement, but unfortunately, the scripting behind it is extremely convoluted and fragile.

After 30+ hours of testing, debugging, rewriting notecards, checking prim names, and dissecting link message flows, I’ve come to the conclusion that this product is not ready for end-users without serious scripting knowledge or endless patience. The system struggles to reliably load and execute notecards beyond the first segment, and it offers little to no error feedback when things fail. Even the smallest change in a notecard can completely break functionality, often without clear reason.

There is no current documentation to explain the expected format, flow, or logic of the scripts and worse, attempts to contact the creator have gone unanswered, making support nonexistent. If you’re hoping for plug-and-play or even a system that "just works" after setup, this isn't it.

I am an experienced user and developer, and I still encounter endless issues, including the tram getting stuck in segment one, despite the GO signals being correctly received. I’ve tried to fix or work around the problems, but the lack of modular structure and error handling makes that a nightmare.

I’m writing this to help others avoid the same frustration. If the creator is still around, I strongly urge an update to improve reliability, documentation, and usability.

Buyer beware: this is not a turn-key solution. It may work for a simple linear ride, but anything more complex (multi-stop tours, shows, or presentations) will require heavy lifting and endless tweaking.

I've used this for several projects, all were a bit different and it has been able to do everything I needed. I've asked the creator for help a couple of times and have gotten a reply with an easy simple to follow answer or help with troubleshooting.
One thing I like about this is that I add my own scripted elements and it is built to easily allow communication between scripts.

This system is very useful! I love it! I do struggle with understanding how to get things to work right, but that is not the creators fault! In fact, the creator is very patient and willing to assist the customer if they are struggling! I rate this five stars for it being an excellent multi-use product and a outstanding customer support!
