Righteously Challenged
Vortex Manipulator (VM)
This is a replica of the Vortex Manipulator, of both Doctor Who and TorchWood fame.
A Vortex Manipulator is a wrist mounted computer, used for teleportation, time travel, and more.
Features:
* Animates and flips open when in use.
* Teleport effects, including particles, sound and animation.
* Landmark system, automatically lists landmarks for teleporting.
* Scan for nearby avatars, and teleport directly to them.
* RLV compatible for Forced teleports when using landmarks or scanning.
* Built in Coms device, communicate with other VM users in the same sim.
* Optional HUD so you don't have to struggle to click your own wrist.
* Comes with an optional script for disabling AOs when in use.
Use:
To access the menu either touch the VM itself, or the HUD object.
Menu Commands:
* LM TP lists landmarks from inventory, selecting a landmark will teleport you.
* Scan lists all avatars in range (96 meters) and allows you to teleport directly to them.
* FX allows you to toggle on and off particles, sounds, and the teleport animation.
* RLV toggles RLV Forced Teleports on and off (only for RLV compatible viewers).
* Help hands you this spiffy Instructions notecard.
* Update checks to see if there's any updates available.
* Reset resets all scripts back to their default settings.
Turning on RLV:
RLV allows the VM to force a teleport, rather than popping up the map teleport window.
To activate RLV functions in Phoenix, go to Preferences -> Phoenix -> Misc, and check
"Enable Restrained Love [RLVa] features", then relog.
To Add a New Landmark:
Edit the VM, go to the Contents tab, then drag and drop your landmark striaght into Contents.
NOTE: The landmark MUST contain "parcel name, sime name (vector position)",
All landmarks are like this by default, if you need to change the name, change ONLY parcel name.
Coms Device Commands:
The coms device uses 2 channels to communicate, 5 and -500 by default.
To talk through the com device simply type "/5 say" followed by your message.
The owner talks on 5, and the VM listens on -500 for other VM users.
You can change both channels, though com channel will always be a negative.
For example:
"/5 my channel 6" will change the owner channel to 6.
"/5 com channel 900" will change the com channel to -900.
Particle Colors:
Particle color commands are "start color" and "end color".
Example: "/5start color red" will change the start color to red.
You can either use a handful of preset color names, or define your own.
Presets are: "red", "green", "blue", "sky", "pink", "purple", "black" and "white".
To define your own color use an RGB vector such as "< 1, 1, 1>" for "white".
Note: start color only effects the post teleport particles.
