Vote2SendHome System Instructions
What is Vote2 SendHome?
Vote 2 SendHome is a two-object, group-powered moderation system for Second Life. It allows avatars who are wearing the same group tag as the system to vote on whether a misbehaving avatar or griefer should be teleported home and banned. The ban can be enforced in one parcel, or across multiple parcels in the region, all at once.
System Overview
The system includes two separate objects that work together:
1. Vote System – allows group-tagged avatars to vote against nearby avatars
2. Teleport Home Enforcer – executes the teleport and ban after enough votes
Both objects must be in the same region and set to the same group.
Group Tag and Parcel Rules
* The Vote System must be set to a group, not deeded
* The Teleport Home Enforcer must be set and deeded to the same group as the land, only if the land is deeded to that group
* Only avatars wearing the same group tag as the Vote System can vote
* The Enforcer must be placed in the same parcel as the Vote System to work by default
* Additional Enforcers can be placed in other parcels on the region to apply bans simultaneously across multiple parcels
How it Works
1. A group-tag-wearing avatar clicks the Vote System and sees a list of nearby avatars
2. When a target receives enough votes (default: 2), all active Enforcers:
* Teleport the avatar home
* Ban them from the land for the specified time (default: 1 hour)
* Alert the object owner with a message naming the banned avatar and the action taken
3. Votes are cleared automatically after the ban is applied. A manual reset option is also available
Setup Instructions
1. Rez the Vote System in the parcel where voting will take place
2. Rez the Teleport Home Enforcer in the same parcel – this one is required
3. Optionally, rez additional Enforcers in other parcels of the region to apply region-wide bans
4. Set all objects to the same group
5. Deed only the Enforcers, and only if the land is also deeded
6. Ensure the group has permissions to teleport and ban avatars
Voting Menu (User Side)
* Group-tagged avatars click the Vote System
* A dialog appears showing nearby avatars
* Clicking a name casts a vote
* When the vote threshold is reached, all Enforcers act
