Welcome Group Joiner Script – Instructions
What is this script?
This script, together with the included notecard, is designed to welcome visitors to your land and invite them to your group. Each avatar will only receive the invite message once per 24 hours, even if they return multiple times during that day.
How does it work?
When an avatar enters the sensor range, the script will:
Display your custom welcome message.
Show a menu with a “Join Group” button.
Since LSL cannot send group invites directly, clicking the button will send the avatar a private local chat message that says:
"Click the link to join our group" followed by your group link.
This ensures your visitors get a clear, clickable link to your group without spam—just once per day per avatar.
Tips & Limitations
Works only with open enrollment groups that anyone can join.
Cannot bypass private or invite-only groups.
Ideal for stores, roleplay sims, or any location where you want to encourage easy group joining.
Helps generate more group members without manually inviting each visitor.
How to Use
Open the included notecard (WelcomeConfig).
Replace the placeholder text with:
Your custom welcome message.
Your group’s key/link.
Save the notecard.
Drop both the script and notecard into an object (you can name it Welcome, your sim name, or your store name).
Place the object at your landing point or main entrance.
Precautions
Only use one copy of this script per region.
If multiple are running, avatars will receive duplicate messages when clicking the join button.
