WingCat II - A Fun and Exciting WingSail Catamaran バージョン 2

The WingCat II is a 10 meter catamaran that features a rigid 'wingsail' as opposed to canvas sails. Wingsails are not unlike airplane wings, in that they rely on the principles of lift - applied horizontally instead of vertically - to propel the boat forward. This results in a very efficient sail that does very well into the wind, although less effective than standard sails when running with the wind. A wingsail will pivot on a central point, and does not require additional standing rigging or even a boom. The WingCat emulates a particular real life design where a tailfin assists with the angle of attack of the wingsail, not unlike the rudder on an airplane adjusts its yaw angle
