The Wingsong Drum is an extraordinary percussion instrument. Using low lag scripting, handsome textures, original Wingsong animation, and some of the best sound clips available anywhere, this drum is one of the most versatile drums on the grid.
You may select from 42 percussion tracks. No, that’s not a typo. FORTY-TWO PERCUSSION TRACKS! We have worked for months scouring the land in search of the best collection of rhythm for you, and we feel confident you will agree these are some of the best clips you’ll hear on the grid!
Because not everyone shares the same taste in music, and because even individuals vary in their preferences from time to time, we have included a wide range of genres for you to choose from. Reggae, hip hop, rock, jazz, ethnic, industrial, trance, techno, and more! We’ve also selected various tempos, so you can find virtually anything you’re in the mood to.
The Wingsong Drum comes in a REZ as well as a WEAR version. They are essentially identical except for the animation script and textures.
The REZ version is unique among SL drums in that you do not have to be sitting at the drum to play it. It doubles as a drum machine, so you can dance alone or with your friends.
The WEAR version (attaches to your pelvis by default) is unique because the vast majority of SL drums do not travel. Those that do travel are generally rather limited in scope and range. The Wingsong Drum is NOT limited.
To play your drums either REZ or WEAR the one you want to play. Touch the seat and a menu opens up with two pages, for a total of 21 drum tracks. Touch the drum and another menu opens up with two more pages, for another 21 drum tracks. To play, simply select the track you want. To change to another track, select a separate track. You can actually play two tracks at the same time (one from the seat, one from the drum), but you’ll have to experiment to see what sounds good together. To turn off the sound go to the second page of the menu and select QUIT.
These drums are ideal for drum circles, concerts, casual play, dances and will provide you and your guests hours of enjoyment. They are very low prim (3), and they are designed to be extremely low rendering cost, so they do not cause undue lag on the regions your visit.
And the drums are COPY/MOD – so you never have to worry about them getting lost. You can even delete some of the sound clips and add your own by going to the EDIT tool, CONTENTS tab, a deleting the clips you want. Then go to your inventory and drag your own clips to the CONTENTS tab and your menu will automatically update itself. Be sure to make a copy of your originals before you modify.
