Wu Dang Tai Chi Chuan Motion Capture Animation
COPY VERSION

This animation was captured in our Edinburgh based motion capture studio www.awesomedog.co.uk with a real life wu dang style Tai Chi practitioner, it is the standard short form animation for the style. Motion capture allows us to record the movements of real people and then transfer them for use on 3d models and Avatars in SL!

INSTRUCTIONS

Each pose ball contains the full 5 minute 30 second short form sequence. To use a pose ball simply rez it in world and sit on it. The animation will start automatically. You can rez multiple pose balls in world to perform Tai Chi with friends. If you want to synchronize the Tai Chi balls you should link them together with the SL building tools. Once linked together so they form one object in Second Life they will all restart together when a new avatar sits on one of them or any one of the sitting avatars issues the chat command /8sync

In case you are not familiar with the SL building tools here is a quick explanation of how to link them all together.

1. Drop the pose balls out in world and distance them evenly and not too far apart.
2. Right click on one of them and select the 'Edit' Option from the pie menu
3. Holding down the shift key on your keyboard click on each of the other pose balls in turn
(This allows you to select multiple pose balls at once, they appear with a yellow halo when selected)
4. Once you have all the pose balls you wish to link selected go to the Build menu at the top of the Viewer and select the menu option 'Link'
5. If they have linked together correctly you should now see one of them with a yellow Halo and the others with a Blue Halo. They are now considered to be one single Object in SL made up of multiple pose balls.
6. Each time a new avatar sits on one of the pose balls all the others with restart in sync.

SYNCHRONIZATION PROBLEMS
Sometimes in SL the animations may not appear synchronized. This is because animations have to download first before they can play. If there is a delay due to lag causing them to appear out of sync you can resynchronize them at any time by standing up and sitting down again or with the command in chat /8Sync

MANUAL SHOW / HIDE COMMANDS
Unless you have enabled proximity Hide in the settings notecard inside the pose balls they will appear visible when an avatar is not sitting on them and disappear when an avatar sits on them. They can be turned visible at any point overriding there normal state with the commands /8Show and /8Hide in chat.
