Inspired by the 7.9m catamaran from Cheetah Marine, this is a small versatile catamaran intended for a variety of roles such as coastal survey, harbour master and patrolling.
It's been sensibly built to allow you to remove parts that you don't need or want so that you can modify it for crab/lobster catching, diving, fishing or just simple pleasure boating.
Like my other vehicles, it is minimally scripted and everything is there to ensure you get a reliable vehicle with a sense of the real thing. It is designed to be extremely modifiable and resilient to modding. The majority of the code can be modified too, since I believe in giving you as much flexibility for modding as I can.
So you won't find lots of features that aren't directly related to being a skipper. I don't add things that I personally would never/rarely use.
What you will find is a boat built to RL scale, with everything needed to simply go on a journey in something that looks and feels like a boat.
Briefly, the main features are:-
a) about 32/33 knot top speed in normal mode, about 41 knots in high speed mode
b) will rock about and crest off of imaginary waves when moving
c) rocking motion can be turned on/off when moored
d) an optional fuel system
e) can be guested to others
f) various moving/animated parts
g) navigation and mast lights work
h) a working light bar with a variety of colours, patterns and siren/horn sounds for people that like that sort of thing
i) and if you get it beached on land, expect it to stay there! (so don't get it beached!)
j) AVsitter ready versions are included, with a basic AVsitter installation
k) now supports the GFS fuel system
If you're taller than a RL human (about 6 feet) then you'll probably not be able to walk through the cabin door in to the cabin, the boat is rather small and SL doesn't give us the luxury of stooping to get through low doors. But the boat can be scaled up or down to fit you just fine :)
There are 2 versions included in the box, one with 2 seats and one with 4 seats. You can add/remove seats if you need to, the boat shouldn't complain.
The 2 seater was 60 land impact while the 4 seater was 62 land impact. It'll be lower now since LL changed the land impact calculation.
1.3.0 saw the addition of support for GFS and an improved AVsitter installation for modders

Simply the best of everything ! and that is no exaggeration.
This has to be the best motorised scripted boat currently in SecondLife and i have quite a few to compare it with. The movement of this boat has a feel of realism that i have not found in any other boat so far within SL. The scripting is top notch with attention to details others have let slip by. I myself make boats and script them, and have to applaud Yetius on the work of her scripting, I would want her to script my models in future because I don't know what she has done to make this feel so realistic. To compare this boat with other scripters would be like saying it is in the same top rank quality of ZSK and the detailed aircraft featured scripting of ZoraSlade Karu , or Kelly Shergoods attention to details in her Shergood Aviation Helicopter scripts. I don't leave bad reviews for people if i try a product and it is not to my liking, but however if i do find a product that is a stand out build I will leave a fair revue of that build and this was one I could not let go by without recommending to other virtual sailors. The features are great and the build is completely Mod so you can personalise it to your own tastes. I hope Yetius builds more boats in the future and especially a nice luxury motor yacht, which is lacking currently in SecondLife. Also Yetius if you would consider scripting my models well let me know a price LOL. Best of luck with the sales on this I hope many people get to try this out or at least have someone Guest it to them so they can feel for themselves the quality of your work. 5 stars is not enough for this compared with other boats of 5 star ratings.

Absolute top product, impeccable scripting, modifiable, life-like. This is so god it could easily cost 2500 L$. You should buy this even if you hate boats and water, seriously, because this thing will make it fun.

I have been building boats for awhile now. I must say, while I always strive to make a quality product, this boat lives up to everything I want to provide. I cannot think of a single negative about this product!
Driving - This boat FEELS like a real boat should feel. you can tell this scripter knows what they are doing! My favorite thing about driving this boat is how she has made the water feel real. with how the boat hops and jumps complete with spray. I keep waiting on the spray to hit me in the face while sitting here at my desk!
Lag - None to speak of. With only 7 scripts in the vehicle this little boat crosses sims like a dream! This eats sim crossings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Features - Everything you would want to see in a vehicle this boat has them. Amazing attention to detail. the doors open and close, the lights work, the engines turn in a very realistic and smooth manner.
Customize - This boat has it in spades! All the UV maps you need are included. She also included a spare door in case you do not want the railing that comes with the standard one! Clearly this maker has tried to think of everything!
I am truly in awe of what has been created here and will GLADLY point ALL my customers to this product. Get this boat NOW before she raises the price to what this boat is REALLY WORTH. I would EASILY have paid L$1500 for this boat and been happy with my purchase.

Another stunning vehicle from Rubber Bunny
tl:dr version: This boat is fantastic, buy it now!
It really comes as no surprise that the first boat made by Rubber Bunny is a wonderfully crafted, well textured, excellent performing vessel. We should be used to it by now, everything Yetius makes just does what it should and leaves you with a smile on your face.
The ad tells you just what you're getting, an excellent boat with plenty of things to play with: opening doors, multitudes of lighting options, 2 and 4 seater variants. Of course the instruments in the cabin work, making mouselook driving possible (and a real joy), and it comes with full mod perms, so you can customize it how you want.
Yetius though really shows other makers in SL just what customer service is all about - most of the scripts are mod too, rare in SL vehicles, but more than that, Yetius has taken the time to go through the scripts, literally line-by-line, and add comments to help you understand exactly whats going on -amazing. The instructions are thorough and as always, actually enjoyable to read as well.
Performance wise the Marlin is great - it's no speedboat, but it will still boogie along at around 35 knots, but it feels faster than that due to some wonderful wave-effect scripting. This boat actually bounces up as it crests waves, with the accompanying realistic water spray and sound - it really adds to the realism and makes the Marlin a joy to skipper.
Most good quality, feature packed motor boats in SL sell for around 3000L. The Marlin warrants a 5-star rating and a thumbs-up at that price - but at the actual 849L it's selling for - this thing is a steal. Go and test one for yourself, you won't regret it :)
