Great for blanking out some of the prims that you don't want to be visible:
For instance making that ribbon on your hair invisible or creating invisible wall or hide your slexchange box from others etc. etc..
Hint once you make your stuff invisible, to be able to see it in red, just use Ctrl+Alt+T keyboard shortcut.
Super useful on animated item
I have animated wings that can make me fly by jumping rather than the actual fly button, so that i can fly in no-fly zones. I use this on the wings and now im like a ninja. yeet
Creating Transparency On Objects
***You don't need an alpha texture to make an object 100% transparent. All you need to do is set the transparency under the texture tab in the object edit window up to 100*** I spent one linden so I could inform anyone that reads this. LOL
you can get the same texture in your library just search transparent.
