This is just what I was looking for!
You can change the ALL_SIDES to the number of the face you want it to change, so it can do the entire prim or just one face. hud button and object scripts provided, a little bit of tweaking the colour values and its working nicely. Thanks!
Not enough information in the listing
As far as I can tell this uses one button to change a color of an entire prim so if you are only working with one prim, which is usually the case with mesh things, it changes the color of the entire thing, based on a drop-down menu of about 9 preset colors. Not at all what I was looking for, I want to change the color of a particular face not prim.
Good basic colour HUD
Easy and quick to make a colour HUD for your items.
Only draw back it states in the blurb: "Apply a texture to a single or all faces." Which it doesn't do. I think this was copied/pasted from the ::jAS:: Texture HUD (which is brilliant btw!). But it's good for the L$.
