The classic "butterfly path" sculpt is amazingly effective for creating a swarm of butterflies (or birds or other flying animals). Here it is in high quality, low lag mesh.
The package includes two variants, one flatter than the other and also code for the script you need, an example of a 1 LI linkset with 17 butterflies and a texture (with a lacewing butterfly) to get you started.
