13 Falling leaf emitters, one prim each. There are many different options between color and style of leaves. You can mix together a few to make a custom look. Light weight script. Leaves will flow with the direction of wind.

Way too small
The leaves are absolutely tiny and the falling range is way too small. It's like a little cubic-foot cloud of itty-bitty leaves. It's a neat little effect if you want to apply it to your avatar or something, but as far as using it for normal-sized trees, it's pretty worthless, sadly.
