SUBMERSIBLE WITH DRY DOCK REZZER

The 1300 DSE Gull was influenced by the design of the deepest acrylic body submersible made. The real life version has a dive depth of 13,000 feet and can reach that depth in under 2 hours. Most deep sea submersibles would take 3-4 to reach that depth.

A ballast on a submarine is a container that fills with air and or water to control the depth of the boat. Up until now, all Steelhead Subs used a balanced ballast system in a catamaran hull. That means that each hull has an air ballast chamber that is load balanced, so the ship always stays stable providing a flat, smooth ride with less chance for motion sickness. The DSE uses a top ballast with the chamber at the top of the ship while the weight such as the gas canisters and the batteries are in the rear and the bottom of the craft.

Compared to the other submersibles, this redistribution of weight creates an entirely different experience when driving. It banks on turns. Since the props are in the front of the wings, it dives and surfaces much like a helicopter would feel.

Also, when it surfaces, the ballast can only rise to the surface. The wings rise above the surface providing an area to sit and swim.
