We call them mesh islands but they are just as suitable as practical mesh ground on dry land or inside a skybox and even as sky platforms of their own.

Each mesh island has a central flat area to build on with a more lively surface along the edges. They can be resized and retextured any way you like. To get you started, we have included copies in two different sizes (64x64 m - 4096 m2 and 32x32 m - 1024 m2) and with two different textures (one grass and one sand texture) for each. The islands included in the package are:
+ Mesh Islands 01A-P. 16 islands with a flat area of min. 44X44 m (at 64x64 m overall size) and land impact varying from 9 to 14.
+ Mesh Islands 02-05. Three more islands with smaller flat areas but more lovely contoured terrain around. These islands have three separate textureable faces, one for the flat part, one for the contoured part and one for the outermost and lowest part (the part originally intended to be under water). Land impact from 5 to 10.
+ Mesh Island 06. A simpler island with a large 42x50 m flat area and a land impact of only 1.

The Mesh Islands are all made with the usual OPQ technical quality, considerably higher than what you usually see in SL and on opensim. That means:
+ They are fully walkable, just as precise as system ground - no sinking into the ground or significant hovering over it.
+ You can rez items on them with no problems at all.
+ They have perfect LoD and look the same regardless of view distance.

Our Mesh Islands are currently only available on MP. The "See item in Second Life" link takes you to a full sim sky platform made entirely from various Mesh Islands at different sizes and with different textures but you can only see them there, not buy.

Do not adjust your viewer!
Well, you can if you want to but you don't have to.
OPQ meshes are made to look good with any standard graphics setting on any viewer and there is no need to lag your computer down with high RenderVolumeLODFactor. (And there's no need for ALM ("Advanced Lighting Mode") either but unlike the LOD factor which is only to compensate for poorly made mesh, ALM does improve the look of everything if your computer can handle it.)

At OPQ we take pride in delivering the highest possible quality products for Second Life.
