The item is modifiable so if you see NO MODIFY, that's the script, not the item.
If you're having problems with seeing your sculpts correctly, check your Preferences (CTRL P), then Graphics tab, then Advanced (if you don't see it under Graphics), and check to see that your LOD (or Mesh) setting is 4. This does not create additional Lag, but you will see your sculpted items in a new way ;-)
