3d Mesh Panther Security Orb Instructions

Panther Security Orb is a very simple, efficient, security system. Just put it on your land and it works. Panther Security Orb automatically adjusts its detection perimeter to the size of your parcel. It event speaks french or english depending on the language that you use in SL.

GuardDog does not have all the options of most security orbs, but it is easy to set up and works well for private home use. If you need a more flexible or feature-rich solution, you might prefer one of the commercial security systems.

Click the Panther to switch it on or off. When the Panther is on, any non-authorized person who enters the land perimeter receives a warning message and has 10 seconds to leave. If an intruder stays over 10 seconds, they are ejected. If they come back a second time, they are teleported home.

The list of authorized avatars is in the "Authorized" notecard inside the Panther Security Orb. To modify the list, right-click the Panther, select Edit > Contents and edit the file. The Panther automatically updates itself after any modification.

GROUP LAND

To use the Panther Security Orb on land that belongs to a group, first edit the Authorized list. Then you must deed to the Panther to the group (right-click, Edit > General > Share with group and Deed.

WARNING 1: In group mode, any avatar wearing the tag of the group can activate or deactivate the Panther or edit the Authorized list. The Panther is not suitable for groups that are free to join.
WARNING 2: Always make sure that you are on the Authorized list BEFORE you activate a Panther in group mode. If you are not, then you might be ejected from your own land and will need assistance to get back in.
