Introducing the Caldbeck cottages, a series of traditional stone cottages perfect for a traditional rural setting.
A Caldbeck cottage is well suitable for a medieval/Tudor landscape although if that's what you're looking for you may want to check out my Derwent series instead.
The Caldbeck Cottage series features:
+ Low land impact - just like all other Chin Rey houses
+ Low lag - keeping the scripts and textures down to what the houses actually need
+ Attention to details - again, like all Chin Rey houses :-)
+ Mesh timberframes - no tacky looking painted-on wood beams here!
+ Variety - Several distinctively different models, not just minor variations of the same basic house.
The Coniston Cottage 01 is the most basic house in the series but it still features high class details like meshed timbeframe, windowframes and doorhandle. As a practical house it's essentially the same as Chin Rey's Langdale Cottage 1608: 16x8 m in size, an open gable roof providing plenty of space for the camera and a central movable and removable doorless divider wall.
The style is very different from the Langdale series though. The combination of a timberframe, a lovely natural stone facade and a flagstone floor gives it a lovely old fashioned rustic feel.
The land impact is only 6 - low enough you can easily afford to keep it just as a sim decoration even if it is a fully functional little house in itself.

Modifying the item
Chin Rey's Caldbeck Cottage 01 is fully modifiable. That means you can resize it to any size you like (either manually or with the enclosed MBAGR resizer script) and change the textures to anything you like.
(To avoid any misunderstanding: Chin Rey's Caldbeck Cottage 01 will be listed as not modifiable in you inventory. That is because it contains a no-modify script. Once rezzed, the item itself can be modified any way you like.)

About the Caldbeck Series
Chin Rey's Caldbeck series of houses is named after a sim in the Hidden Lake District of Sansara, right south of OPQ's headquarters in Coniston and Kewsick.
The RL Caldbeck is famous for its stone buildings and that has become the main theme of the OPQ series too: solid, good old fashioned stone houses perfect for the English countryside. However, through the wonderful miracle of retexturing, the Caldbeck houses have proved themselves surprisingly flexible, fitting right into settings as different as late medieval and wild west!

That means you have permission to use in Second Life as many modified and unmodified copies as you like for your own personal use and as parts of public and rental builds owned by you or a group where you are one of the owners. You also have permission to keep as many copies as you like in your inventory. You do *not* have permission to distribute it in any way (This includes rezzing copies of the item on other people's land for other people's use!) or use it in any way outside Second Life.
