How to birth fawn from log:
1) Look in your Inventory for a "FAWNS HUD", and right-click and Add/Wear.
2) Be sure your HUD is on the "Info" Tab.
3) Click a "Fawns Log" and press "Birth" button on the HUD.
4) Click "Yes" button on the HUD to confirm birthing. (Or "No" to cancel birthing.)

(till you rezz log inworld i will be shown as its owner at fawns website). You don't need to birth fawn, just to rezz log. Then you can take the log back into inventory and keep it as long as you want.
